God bless likewise Sir.
Not sad news at all. He is very happy with his toy. Maliksi daw sya NLEX. Buong araw nya pinasyal para ma gamay kaagad. Ako kasi I tend to anticipate emergency situations kaya gusto ko mapaandar yung spare key.
Tonight I had a quick glance at the engine cavity.
Bakit kamo? Eto:
1. The engine air intake is within the engine cavity itself. Less expense on a flexible air hose from an exterior source going to the engine. I understand cold air is best for engine performance.
2. The wiper fluid and coolant reservoir seems made of brittle plastic. I have no proof dahil hindi ko naman binali.
3. The bumper is bolted down instead of those black plastic fasteners
Finally, I think the alarm is a third party accessory installed by the dealership and not integrated enough to sense the use of an emergency key.
On the safe side nga naman ito just in case mapa duplicate yung manual key.

Me instruction sa manual regarding dun.

Test Drove the Mirage GLS CVT yesterday. in contrast to our vios,
- The three cylinder engine in the mirage is noticably noisier at idle hearing from the inside of the cabin, also it causes more vibrations, probably because it has only three cylinders. This one actually made my dad convince my sister to better go for the Fiesta.
- The Engine is just right for the car. nothing spectacular. I dont know if the test unit i tested is still at ECU adjustment mode for the engine and CVT pero thrashing the car by putting the pedal to the metal, nothing happens until 2 to 3 second or so. not unlike sa vios even the 1.3 A/T, putting the pedal to the metal instantly drops 1 gear for you (conventional A/T) and you can gauge the car accelerating.
- I'm hearing something not usual (w/ conventional A/T) whenever full stop at D mode. parang mild thug sound pero once lang every stop.
- The B mode is noticably more responsive than the D mode. you can also feel the Engine Brake.
- the equipment is generous, the brakes are fine, the ride is also fine.
- the steering is very light. waaay lighter than our vios w/ 17 rims. you can turn the wheel with your finger. hell, it is even lighter than my Logitech G27 Game Racing wheel.haha. good for city driving.
- The build quality feels cheap compared to the smaller EON or Picanto.
- Handles well. I enjoyed playing with the light steering.hehe.
The Mirage CVT is a great City driving machine, but for highway, it might take patience and anticipation on highway overtakes judging from the way the CVT responded during the short test trip, The B mode has better response. better shift it to B during overtakes.
