April 11th, 2011 11:41 PM #1858If it is common to GLS-V only.
It maybe due to the difference in the transmission low gear ratio between the two variance. Especially if you compare their first gear ratio.
If CRDI engine cannot reach high rpm fast enough (because of initial load) + many diesel = :horse: still many horses but with some or plenty of droppings depending on the amount being fed hehehe
Comparing the two variance, the GTV engine is loaded less most of the time especially when driven from stand still or heavy traffic because of the very low first gear of the GTV.
When their accelerator pedal is pressed hard in the same manner, the GTV should also reach higher RPM faster and easily compared to the GLS-V, the unburnt fuel (if there are) should also be lesser thus less smoke.
Of course, their is still the better/ fuel-efficient option to press that GLS-V accelerator pedal gradually during the initial acceleration and feel/play with its power once it reaches 1800rpm or bit higher.
