April 29th, 2015 06:50 PM #1A TRAIN of the Philippine National Railways was derailed on Wednesday afternoon, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported.
MMDA said the accident happened past 4 p.m. at the Skyway Magallanes exit.
No other details were available as of posting time. AC

They should not be using the rails anymore. It's too old, the wood slippers are rotten with nails that are as old or older than the republic. We need a totally new railway.

Kulang sa maintenance. They should regularly inspect and replace the rotten wooden sleepers.
Singapore's MRT is replacing their wooden sleepers with concrete ones.

May 1st, 2015 09:45 AM #8According to the news, the PNR was asking a few billion pesos to completely overhaul and possibly expand the network. Congress gave them only a couple hundred million. Bakit nga naman, when road construction and repairs, waiting sheds, multi-purpose halls and basketball courts are more profitable (financially and politically)
