Not particularly sure which particular accent it is. I am sure it's not scottland nor irish accents. I think it's the London accent. It's the kind of combination where certain brits have this ability to understate the obvious with an undercurrent of emotional/***ual passion.

It's either that or I have been watching way too much british TV programs.

This reminds me of a pretty hapa haole friend of mine who spoke pidgin like a kamaaina. She would often go like "...i dunno, it's da kine dats like da kine wen you wanna da kine, you know." It amazes me how her friends will always understand her perfectly each time and nod their heads in agreement.

    Je suis d'accord.

Yup. Am surrounded by frogs and those of the female persuasion actually get one's motor running.

Now a French lass I was once with actually did ask what the fascination was with their accents. Specially in the U.S. I told her it was more a function of Media I suppose with the hype related to it. I said "get into a French maid's uniform and you will see what I mean."

Being with British and Aussies as well, the girls claimed accents are reflective of upbringing and class. One British girl I was also going out with said those that spoke French were normally of what they called better upbringing (the royalty is fluent in french). She was fortunate she hopped from England to Monte Carlo as her father was in the finance industry. Thus her fluency in French. She is married now yet we keep in touch and it is so interesting to speak to her on the phone. Apparently same goes with those from Oz. They also claimed that accents are cleaned up in exclusive girl's schools. Samples of which would be Nicole Kidman's and Rosemary Church's (is that the CNN newscaster's name)?
