    tropical cyclone warning: Tropical storm ‪#‎luisph‬ (kalmaegi)
    issued at 5:00 am, 13 september 2014
    tropical storm “luis” has maintained its strength as it threatens luzon area.
    Location of eye/center: At 4:00 am today, the center of tropical storm “luis” was estimated based on all available data at 500 km east of virac, catanduanes (13.7°n, 129.2°e).
    Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
    Movement: Forecast to move west northwest at 17 kph.
    Forecast positions: Tropical storm “luis” is expected to be at 250 km northeast of virac, catanduanes by tomorrow morning and at 90 km southeast of tuguegarao city by monday morning. By tuesday morning, it is expected to be at 360 km northwest of laoag city.
    • psws #1 (winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36 hours) isabela, southern part of cagayan, northern aurora and catanduanes.
    • residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
    • estimated rainfall amount is from 7.5 – 20 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 400 km diameter of the tropical storm.
    • the combined effect of tropical storm “luis” and the southwest monsoon will bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorms in calabarzon, mimaropa, bicol region and visayas.
    • fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the eastern seaboard of southern luzon, visayas and mindanao.
    • the public and the disaster risk reduction and management council (drrmc) concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11am today.

    No. It's not hard enough for them to declare no work. If it gets worse, I am not coming to work. I don't wanna get stranded in flood and traffic.

    MANILA, Philippines—Parts of the southern Philippines are expected to be rainy on Wednesday as a new low pressure area (LPA) was spotted east of the Visayan islands, the weather bureau said.
    In its early-morning bulletin Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was tracked 1,070 kilometers east of the Visayas.
