August 19th, 2013 01:20 AM #2561Just as soon as the LGUs start announcing no classes tomorrow.. humupa ang ulan.. hope na ang mga baha by tomorrow humupa din..
I still believe that announcements for class suspensions be done early early in the morning... for parents yes.. convenient yung gabi pa lang ay alam na... pero ganito din last week... kung ulan / baha din lang ang basehan.. the rains previous night may or may not stop.. floods may or may not subside asap.. so dapat monitoring... masyado populist yung gabi pa lang announce agad na suspension... hehe

I almost lost my jimny sunday night when I traversed the yakal road in makati on my way to slex. I saw a monty and a cooper turned around but my curiosity got the better of me and put my gear on 4x4 and slowly moved forward. I thought the water level was at the middle of the wheel until I turned left towards buendia when I saw a guy (not sure how tall) wading the flood up to his waist area. I thought of backing up but afraid of losing the engine I continued to roll forward until I thought I could see the water splashing on the hood and almost at the middle of the driver's door. I was the only car at that area and I realized the creek at the side of the railroad was overflowing. I prayed hard and never let go of the accelerator until I managed to turn right towards osmena hiway. My ECL lit up and the engine was making strange noise. I parked for awhile and after 15 minutes everything was normal. That was so scary but I thank my guardian angel and my reliable jimny.

I'm glad you got through it safe! That area is so notorious for floods.
Another area that I avoid when it rains is Primo RIVERa, that area turns into a river when it rains. Worst flood that I passed was along Washington. Areas surrounding Pasong Tamo are prone to flooding for some reason
It's still raining very hard. I wonder if a lot of people won't be able to make it for work tomorrow.
