yung utol ko one time nagpadala ng package.... puro canned goods, chocolate and some shirts lang.... philpost is charging me 4k para ma release ang package.

one time, nag order din ako sa amazon ng hard to find cd.... cd costs around 1k, binayaran ko na tax sa philpost is 1k din. napamahal pa.

EMS or express mail is more expensive than economy mail. It arrives faster & you get the postal notice in 2 weeks. Your item gets delivered to the CPO near Domestic airport. What I don't like is the process of getting your parcel. You have to bring the postal notice & payment receipt. You wait to be called, may take more than an hour. After your name is called, they scrutinize & question you on the item. Assessment is a secret. When your name is called again, you pay the duties. Yun ang shocking part & you can't haggle anymore. That's why I'd rather go for the regular post office.

Not true. My mother and sister in the states sent me last Oct. 2014 a parcel containing legal documents through EMS but until now I have not received the mail. I communicated with PhilPost through email and they replied that the mail is still in transit and they have not yet received the same from US Postal authorities. PhilPost also advised me to inquire with the US Postal authorities. My sister inquired from the US Postal authorities and she was informed that the mail is no longer in US territory. I am confused as to what happened to the mail sent to me. Perhaps, it is still flying above the Pacific Ocean and has not reached the Philippines. Seriously though, I think the mail is lost.

DON'T. Either you will taxed more or the same cost cost of the item or your item will get lost.

My boss sent me a package of chocolates before from Europe through post which I never received. But when he sent a package to another person using courier it arrived on time naman.

Ako madalas mag import ng items from US by USPS priority mail international. Items arrive in a week to the Central Post Office (CPO). Ang matagal yung sorting at delivery to your city PO, usually takes 2 weeks sa metro manila & more if provincial. Also, if you are importing items that are being sold in the country, mahal ang duties nun kasi available naman dito yun.
