MANILA, Philippines - Even movie super-spy Jason Bourne needs help against the nightmarish traffic in the Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Wednesday.

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino is taking steps to avoid chaos on the roads when the latest installment in the blockbuster series, "The Bourne Legacy", starts filming in this country later this month.

Some of the major roads in the traffic-clogged city will be used for car chases and action sequences, Tolentino said.

Motorists will be advised about alternative routes during shooting days, he said, adding that teams will be deployed for crowd control and to re-direct traffic.

"The movie will be shown worldwide. It's best that we clean the area first before filming," Tolentino told reporters.

"We will advise the neighborhoods concerned to be more sensitive to the once-in-a-lifetime shooting opportunity."

Locations for 'Bourne' shoot in Manila bared | ABS-CBN News

MANILA, Philippines - Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino revealed on Tuesday that the shooting of the much-awaited film "Bourne Legacy," the fourth part of the Hollywood action thriller spy film "Bourne" series, will take place in different places of Metro Manila.

"Kasi ang alam ko eight places 'yan. Mayroon sa Intramuros, mayroon sa Navotas fishport," he earlier told abs-cbnNEWS.com.

Other locations bared to ABS-CBN News include: Marikina City Market, San Andres Market, Navotas Fishport, Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., Ayala Avenue, Nagtahan, Pasay Taft, Intramuros and Jones Bridge.

In an interview with ANC on Monday, Tolentino said the film's production selected the Pasay Taft Rotonda as one of the locations for some of the movie's car chase sequences.

"I think they selected Pasay Taft Rotonda. Magulo talaga ang area. So it's about time that we redo the area because it will be shown worldwide. So it's an eye-opener for us na ayusin namin ang Pasay-Taft Rotonda," Tolentino said.

Asked to confirm reports that cameras will start rolling on January 14, Tolentino replied: "Hindi ko pa yan mako-confirm."

Tolentino said the latest "Bourne" film will be filming in Manila for a month.

According to the website IMDb, "The Bourne Legacy" will be written and directed by Tony Gilroy.

It stars Oscar-nominated actor Jeremy Renner ("The Hurt Locker") as new CIA operative Aaron Cross.

What we know so far:

1. Jason Bourne will NOT be in the film, though he's 'alive and well' in the world. His actions in the previous films will have 'consequences' that will be felt in this film.

2. Jeremy Renner plays another Treadstone agent who's been through 'similar experiances' as Bourne.

3. Joan Allen, Scott Glen and Albert Finney will reprise their roles as Pam Landy, Erza Kramer and Albert Fisch respectively, so its likely we're going to see a lot about the investigations into Blackbriar, and possibly the origins of Treadstone/Blackbriar.

4. Rachel Weisz is the female lead, and Edward Norton is the antagonist.

5. Apparently, this movie will be a set-up for a fifth Bourne film featuring the return of Jason Bourne.
