June 25th, 2010 03:06 PM #1DHL called our office (a government agency) regarding a package of documents and 1 CD-ROM sent by a partner in Japan. They are asking us to pay taxes so they can release it. or we can send an affidavit (which I don't know what it should contain) so they can waive the taxes.
is this normal? i mean the package has a declared value of JPY2,500 (around Php1,000?) and our secretary said the taxes were about Php1,800. wtf, a bunch of scholarship application forms, brochure and the e-copy of such in CD-ROM has a tax of that amount.Last edited by fourtheboys96; June 25th, 2010 at 03:08 PM.

I received documents yesterday (SPA) from the US via FEDEX and I wasn't required to pay taxes.
