[SIZE=3]Why do we have such a number of dialect here in our country?

[SIZE=2]I know that the Philippines is a country mainly composed of islands that may explain the various languages that separates each one, however in other areas especially in Luzon having a number of dialects really surprises me.

Anyone who can enlighten me on the origin of this?
