may nakita ako thread about ants in the car pero parang wala about lamok. got no problems with ants/ipis/etc kasi wala naman kumakain sa car and laging malinis sa loob.
but everytime i open my doors, nagpapasukan mga lamok. binibilisan ko na nga ang pagbukas/pagsara ng pinto para di sila makapasok pero pag driving na ako, lumalabas sila.
medyo nakaka-irritate and nakaka-distract kasi when they fly close to your face and eyes. baka maaksidente pa ako.
anyone with an effective way to prevent them from entering or to remove them from the car?
maraming salamat.

January 24th, 2008 02:51 PM #5Methinks the skeeters are attracted to the heat and CO vehicles. In the case of large vans, some of which have only 2 windows that can be opened, the flow of air is insufficient to remove them from certain areas.
I was dreading entering the car the following day but at about 11 am I finally had to. To my surprise, they were all dead! Hundreds of them! Killed by simple heat.
Other than that, I might suggest spraying off in the car or some other environmentally friendly repellant/pesticide.

armed with silicon rubber sealant i spent my next weekend morning covering(sealed up) all that i thought possible openings. believe me, ang dami kung natakpan hehehe.
then bago papasok sa kotsi spray muna ako around the car ng insecticide halos sa ilalim ng kotsi fronting the doors.
well, mukhang wala na akong nakikitang lamok ngayon at isa pa, mukhang madalas ang auto off ng compressor ko ngayon di gaya ng dati na halos di yata tumitigil yun. i mean mabilis lumamig ngayon. kasi nga kung wala ng butas di naka pasok ang lamok then di rin maka escape palabas ang lamig sa loob.. hehehe two birds ah...

If you have a neem tree (it's available here in the Philippines), take a few of its leaves and put them inside your car,- open the windows,- and presto,- they're gone in a jiffy!
(The leaves are also effective in driving away the mosquitoes even if they're(leaves) already dry...)

I find mosquitoes inside the car also irritating and distracting. I just open my windows for a while to let them out. My problem last month were those damn ants which flew out of my aircon, what I did was turned my aircon to full blower speed nagliparan sila lahat hehehe. This maybe because mga 4 days kong di ginamit ang car ko coz nagtitipid sa gas.
