From my understanding of the article, they're not really using the poop in its raw form. They're extracting the protein and separating it from the rest of the gunk. Poop smell is essentially a mix of methane, ammonium, and sulfur... byproducts of the digestive process, and this wouldn't be present in the final form. In short, it's the protein that is being recovered and used to produce the artificial meat.

Kaso galing pa rin sa poop. Unless nagkakaubusan ng food, hindi pa rin bebenta yan IMO lang naman.

Pero sa Palau, Micronesia dahil sa tag-hirap ang tubig yung waste nila talagang nirerecycle eh. Yun mas ok pa kasi kelangan talaga nila. Tsaka mukhang maganda yung treatment style nila, may pod na part ng natural treatment ata.
