This is why I have a NO EATING IN CAR policy in all our rides.

Insecticides? NEVER PUT ANY it will definitely circulate inside your cabin and will put you and the family at risk.

The best way to solve this infestation is to locate the source inside the car which may mean removing the dash as you indicated has the most concentration. Maybe some food found its way into the dash vents. Also try to check the spot in your garage where you park and try trace their steps to their lair because they definitely did not just appear inside your ride, they crawled up via the tires.

    Happy hunting!

+1 me dito. One more suggestion, they are looking for food right? So give them outside the car where their nest are. This will divert their interest to it.After when they are all mocking up,give them the DEATH PENALTY!

I remember what i DId before

Usually its inside the door sa loob sa baba,

Pag umulan kasi at may dust doon sa windows etc. lahat naiipon sa baba kaya nagakakaroon ng buhangin, better remove the side moulding of the door car and put hose with low pressure on it. and while youre at it, put some grease on the powerwindow cable. (Any cable that can be reach with your hand)

Might as well take the door panels off then, if there are food particles, they probably are too big (basing from the threadstarter's description of the amount of ants) to be flushed out.

Also a good time to clean the whole interior. Take the front seats out, rear seats out, the carpets, vacuum everything, remove the door panels, clean them out, and make sure there are no food particles stuck between the seats, in the cupholders, coin slots, AC vents, map pockets, door handles, in the seats where the bottom and rear cushions meet, in the backseat, under the carpet, around the seatbelt retracting slots, etc - basically anywhere your hands or small food particles can get into.

Grabe kanina. We used the car and pag-on ng aircon (auto) nag on to full fan speed, then naglabasan marami as in marami na ants. Dead and alive!. Isang tasa siguro of ants mapupuno. Buti nalang laminated ang floor so we used a broom to get it out. Yun after minutes of running the aircon at full, meron pa rin konti lumalabas. We went to our car mechanic (magaling sya) he said spray odorless waterbased insecticide on the aircon vents. But when we went to handyman to buy, we saw this water-gel based thing that attracts ants and the worker ants will bring the gel to the nest before they die so that everyone can taste it daw. So yun marami na ants around it. Hopefully it works. Now naka-lock lang ang car. Nakalagay sa windshield "Ants onboard"...

Sabi nga pala ng mechanic, pumasok daw yung ants most likely through the aircon intake vent. Since full auto ang aircon, if the cabin gets cold enough, the intake vent opens so that outside air can go in. So yun nga, na-off siguro ang car na open ang vent. Anyone knows how to make the vent permanently closed when the a/c controls is auto? Kasi to turn on the aircon, we press auto, then yun automatic na yung settings, fan speed, etc depending on your desired temperature. I can make the intake vent manual by pressing it but when the aircon is turned off and on ulit, auto ulit sya. Its a Nissan Serena QRV.R Ltd btw.

seriously, no matter how many insecticides or gel you put, as long as you don't stop eating inside the vehicle, the ants won't go away..
