Ex-PBA player Bryan Gahol dies in road mishap | Inquirer News
MANILA, Philippines–A former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player and his companion died, while two were hurt in a multiple vehicle collision along Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEx) on Monday night, police said.
Bryan Gahol, 36, and companion Rosemarie Manalo were killed in a traffic mishap along the northbound lane of SLEx in Muntinlupa City, PO1 Rayjan Dawang of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP HPG), told INQUIRER.net.
Superintendent Elizabeth Velasquez of PNP-HPG said in an interview over Inquirer Radio 990AM that the accident involved three vehicles including a Nissan Urvan, a cargo jeep, and a trailer truck.
Velasquez said a cargo jeep first hit a trailer truck, which then bumped the Nissan Urvan carrying Gahol.
Gahol and Manalo were immediately rushed to the hospital, but were declared dead on arrival. They were with three other people who were not hurt in the incident.
The other two people injured in the mishap have not yet been identified by the police.
The drivers of the cargo jeep and the trailer truck are now under the custody of the HPG while it is still investigating the incident.
Gahol played for teams Mobiline, Alaska, Petron Blaze, and Barako Bull in the PBA. He also saw action in the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) as a University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon.
Kahit gano ka kaingat sa pag da drive. Pag natabihan or kahit nasa likod mo pa yung mga barumbado eh maaari ka pa rin madamay at mamatay.

Condolences to the family of the victims.
