Why don't they tax and penalize the small and medium businesses that aren't even BIR-registered instead? There are a LOT of them out there. Harassing big companies like Shell will scare away more investors (becoming a trend). Instead of rewarding our top taxpayers, they harass them and let these unregistered SMEs get away with next to no tax contrubutions.
Maybe government vehicles should have a warning message printed on them similar to booze and packs of smokes.
It should read: "Greed moderately."

(or an unpopular administration trying to earn back popularity)
what better way to gain popularity than by harassing a multinational oil company
the masses hate oil companies

I think that it is a conservative estimate. Im pretty sure na lahat ng nakakaalam sa proyekto eh kelangan lagyan para walang pumiyok.
the church and the government love them because these are the same people that keeps them in power....
cant blame them, they have to do this to be in power and being in power is their means of livelihood. They are just doing what they need to do to live a good life just like the business people do.

Isa pa yun. My source tells me now that the norm nowadays is that less than 50% of the approved budget for any government construction makes it to the project.
I don't think they'll push through with Shell's double taxation though. How will they fuel the cars on their motorcades if Shell stops importation?
