Chinese authorities say two WOMEN were part of knife-wielding terror gang which left at least 33 dead and 143 wounded after attacking a train station in China

Two of the knife-wielding attackers who killed 29 people and injured 143 in a frenzied attack at a Chinese railway station yesterday were women, according to state TV.

The attackers, four of whom were killed by armed police, launched the horrific attack at Kunming railway station in Yunnan province at around 9pm local time yesterday.

Distressing photos circulating online showed bodies, pools of blood and abandoned luggage scattered across the terminal floor in the wake of what authorities termed an 'organised, premeditated, violent terrorist attack'.

i'm curious about the police presence/response there; Xinjiang is supposed to be a volatile area, common sense dictates deployment of extra security, especially at a train station.

So i guess they'll ban knives now, like in medieval times?

This is not the first incident of a knife attack in China; a few years back a deranged man got into a school at stabbed some kids. This also happens in Japan; not sure why kids are the favorite target, easy pickings i suppose.

it doesn't matter what a bad guy use, no matter what we do if someone wants to hurt or kill another being they will always find a way. btw this incident has more people killed and hurt than any known shooting spree.

all the examples you posted can't be compared since those are terrorist attacks not random act of violence. this situation can be compared to school shootings in the states or the likes of it not terrorist attacks.

lets also put it this way, just imagine if some of the civilians we're carrying firearms then this gang could've been stopped sooner.

also remember that guns run out of bullets while knives don't need bullets or to be reloaded to kill. anyway let's not make it into another gun debate or what it's not, a knife was used period nothing else nothing more.

On the contrary, if the Chinese civilian would have been allowed to carry guns, the gangs would have been carrying bigger guns. We can see a warring medieval China carrying assault rifles instead of spears.
