December 12th, 2009 02:53 PM #3make sure your cookware is compatible. aluminum pots and pans won't work with induction cooker.

That's true. Glass pots will also not work.
We bought a cheap single "burner" Induction cooker, (Midea). It works pretty well but the free superthin stainless pot is only good for stew and boiling stuff. It's good to use as a "scratch" pot though. Mabubutas na nga ito kasi lagi nasusunog. hehehe
For me, it's a dream come true to have a microwave technology for open top cooking. Super bilis makaluto. Water boils in less than a minute (for blanching). We have tried cooking everything we can here and so far, no problem.
So far, the best brand of pots and pans we've used is NutriTech. It works very well with this type of cooker. I know a dealer if you want but I recommend you try Solingen first since it's a German brand. All-Clad (USA) has a copper-core edition in their collection, said to be best for induction cookers but I can't find one locally. Since a two burner is abour 17k, siguro ang 4-burner mga 40k+ ito. Try mo Anson's, malamang Philips ang meron ganito. 2-burner lang kasi ang sa Midea. Why do you need 4-burner though?

Sa Greenbelt area meron sir katabi ng G5. Malaki yun. sa Ortigas meron din, almost same size ng G5. Both are their buildings pero sa Trinoma kami namili noon kasi yun ang malapit. It's not that big pero wide selection na rin (meron sa 1st and 2nd floors).
Ang ok sa Anson's madali kausap. We also bought a Panasonic Ref last August tapos nagkakaroon ng condensation sa loob, pinuntahan ng representative nila to check (ok naman daw lahat ng readings) then we observed it for a week based on their advice, tapos nung meron pa rin, pinalitan agad ng brand new unit (upgraded model, we had to add 300 pesos) delivered to us. Kinuha lang yung packaging kasi tinapon ko na yung nauna. Ang kakaiba sa appliance store na yun, pwede ka tumawad, sa Trinoma Mall ito ha (discount nila sometimes more than 10%). I buy there as much as possible, yun nga lang di sila dealer ng Nikon cams so I had to buy somewhere else last Oct.
