April 25th, 2005 06:36 PM #72pardon the rather juvenile questions, pero ung mga moves ng ae86, is it really capable to doing that in real life? do ae86ers really drive like takumi(sounds like takumi-ter, no?), as in intentionally letting it drift to get on the inside/outside corner? sensya na ha, no idea what this drift thing is -- impression ko is that drifting is not something you can actually control, or deliberately perform for positioning and such B)

i saw the Drift Bible video, pwede ata pero u have to be very good at drifting. n i saw some jap clips of car clubs drifting on the streets in japan, they were good as in almost all of them followed the same path

April 25th, 2005 08:51 PM #74hmm...it's sort of a controlled environment kasi pag demo/exhibition -- you can plan each move and practice in advance. pag racing kasi, practically anything goes. just the possibility of racers actively manipulating drifting action amazes me
first time i saw initial d, i was astounded. pero cgi kasi yan. the animators could make the ae86 sprout wings and fly to the finish line if they wanted to B)
i do find the series interesting though, the commentaries help me understand the finer details of cars/driving.

April 25th, 2005 08:54 PM #75btw, the episode where takumi met the levin guy, where the levin guy said the ae86's engine is being restrained...dahil lang ba sa tachometer? i mean, the tacho only goes to 8000rpm, so takumi thought that's the max, and avoid revving it real hard...when in reality the engine could handle 10k
rpm?

yup, 11k. ang galing nung battle ni takumi with daiki, he was told to keep his revs down to 9K max to match the redline ng ek9 ni daiki...nagulangan tuloy si daiki nung second run, takumi ran up to the 11k redline.
