Budget around 200k (sedan) / 250k (coupe/estate) when buying a 123. Fairly good condition and would be a reliable daily driver. Peg higher budget if you are particular with exterior/interior details. But as mbeige mentioned, it'll be a challenge to find a "sasakyan na lang" condition nowadays.

Thanks Bob. Not too particular naman with interior details..yetbasta maayos itsura niya, buo yung trims, unat yung bumpers, ok na. Considering the age, can't expect really to get a "ride and drive" unit easily, basta hindi naman masyadong major ang repairs, as you said, maybe some rust here and there and some aircon repairs.

additional info lang ...
if this is your first time to get a classic MB ... it would be best to bring an "MB" certified mechanic along if and when you check out possible purchase candidates.
try not to jump at the first "juicy deal" that you get.
look for legit papers, maintenance receipts, spareparts receipts, etc. a meticulous owner would have these.
window shop around, there are a lot of W123's being sold out there.
decide on which variant you want. petrol or diesel? automatic or manual? the advantages of each variant you'll get to know once you browse thru the forums Pat (Mbeige) has mentioned.
have patience, remember these are 20++ year old cars.
read and learn thru the internet, googling Mercedes Benz W123 will give you tons of info.
Re: DIY picture * Pat;

ThanksNot in too much of a hurry naman to get a W123, I've just started actually on browsing for infos on the net as well as for some future prospects, just to get a feel of the going market prices. Anyway, if ever I do start on checking out some units, I do intend to bring either a certified benz mechanic or a certified benz freak

Francis, masakit rin katawan ko pagkatapos. Pero happy ako, car drove SMOOTH. Walang problema. It was a job well done for both of us. My friend had to leave kagad, nahiya nga ako kasi natagalan kami ng konti. Pero it was worth it.
Kung nandito ka lang sa California, tawagan mo ako samahan kita kung talagang gusto mo ng w123.
Soon, hahanap ako ng 190E for my sister. Long story short, kailangan ng kapalit yung 190E niya na naaksidente. Sana okay na homework ko by the time we look around para alam ko what to look for (part of the fun yung homework).
