Top Gear smashes up rare £600,000 Koenigsegg CCXR
The BBC's Top Gear has suffered another disastrous day. The TV series that saw Jeremy Clarkson's co-presenter Richard Hammond survive a near-fatal crash in a racetrack incident last year has suffered yet another setback. The latest incident saw a £600,000, 1,000bhp, Swedish-made Koenigsegg CCXR end up on the supercar scrapheap.

What wasn't quite so predictable was that one of the engineers "hit a cone" that had been left out, and crashed - causing tens of thousands of pounds' worth of damage.
All very embarrassing for the Top Gear team... and even more so for the hapless engineer who was behind the wheel. The crash speed could have been more than 120mph.
