Manila Bulletin – Sat, Nov 10, 2012.. .

MANILA, Philippines - Despite refuting reports that he had fallen off the wagon and returned to drinking, actor Baron Geisler had reportedly landed in jail anew. According to radio reports and various online sources, he was arrested Friday night for allegedly attacking a neighbor while intoxicated.

As reports have it, an apparently drunk Geisler barged into a neighbor's variety store at around 7 pm on Friday. Its owner, identified as a certain Raymond Dela Rosa, had been with his wife and three-year-old kid when it happened.

Dela Rosa confronted Geisler, who had reportedly taken bread from the sari-sari store, and this agitated the actor. He supposedly threw the bread on the floor and smashed a monobloc chair against the store's screen. Furthermore, the actor was said to have punched Dela Rosa in front of his family, which allegedly traumatized the couple's young child.

Geisler and Dela Rosa apparently live in the same apartment row in Fairview, Quezon City.

According to a report on abs-cbnnews.com, authorities said it was Geisler's aunt that reported the incident to barangay officials. The actor was later brought to the Quezon City Police Station 5, where he ended up spending the night in jail.

Reports said Geisler was to face charges of malicious mischief, physical assault and child abuse.

According to the same site, Geisler was also scheduled to undergo inquest proceedings Saturday afternoon at the Quezon City prosecutor's office.

However, at around 11 a.m. on Saturday, DZMM reporter Dennis Datu tweeted that Geisler had already been released from jail, supposedly following some sort of settlement with the aggrieved family. Datu also followed this with tweets noting Geisler's family will be taking him to the hospital for a check-up and that the Dela Rosa family is dropping the charges against him. However, this report remains unsubstantiated.

The actor has yet to comment on the issue.

Geisler's aunt, Tita Aida, however, clarified certain aspects of the reports to Bulletin Entertainment in a phone interview. She noted that she was still at work on Friday night when she received a call from her sister, Geisler's mom, that an incident was brewing in their area involving the actor. Fearing for the safety of her sister, who was alone in the house then, as well as Geisler's, she called the barangay only to ask for assistance. To their surprise, Geisler's was instead taken to the precinct, supposedly because there had already been a complaint filed.

Geisler's family has been advised by their lawyer to refrain from issuing any further statements for now. The family has also noted that no case has been filed against him.

Meanwhile, a very recent Bulletin Entertainment report, prior to this news, noted how the actor admitted to struggling to keep himself clean and sober. "It's a conscious effort that I have to think about everyday, it's a continuous struggle like yesterday, I wanted to drink badly but buti na lang [hindi natuloy]," he had said.

"I'm just tired also of this parang vicious cycle na pinagdaanan ko. But it's always nice to be brave enough to accept defeat and to do something about it," he had even said regarding his ongoing struggle to keep on the right path.

"I really wanna have a good life na," he had pointed out, sharing that his goals now include hopefully buying a house for him mother, who lost hers to a fire.
