ung Gundam kasi i also find depressing...in a few of the installments there's always a pair of lovers where one would end up getting killed protecting the other, girls cries, vows to kill off the enemy, and so on and so forth. All the while kasi you're pumped up, waiting for the next great battle scene...then bibirahan ka ng ganyan. Makes you feel guilty for being such a war freak B)

One other anime movie i saw as a kid -- World War 199x i think -- i remember really getting excited to see really great battle scenes and such...then kalagitnaan it displays the ravages of war. Grabe, kakadepress.

Then again, that's a credit to the storyline these anime series have; i can't think of any other cartoon that evokes so much emotion, so much thought.

i've been following the Naruto mange quite regularly(8 tails na si Naruto, and lumabas na si 4th. Cool!) though i don't know how Mashashi Kishomoto will wrap up the series. sobrang daming side stories.

That is one of the things I like about Gundam is that the reality of war and combat is included in the story line. They pretty much include the fact that people die in wars.

BTW, there is a new war anime movie out titled SKY CRAwLERS. I have it but havent watched it yet.

    Jin-Roh the wolf brigade.
    A+. WWII alternate history.

this anime most certainly influenced Killzone 2's (PS3 videogame) enemy design.

    Detroit Metal City

Soichi Negishi is a shy and gentle young man who dreams of a career as a pop musician. Dreams don't pay the bills, so he's ended up as the lead singer of a death metal band called “Detroit Metal City.” In stage costume he is Johannes Krauser II, rumored to be a demon, to have killed and raped his parents, to wield his giant death penis with abandon, etc. etc. Negishi despises DMC and all that it stands for, but so help him, he's a terrific performer and can't walk away from that. As DMC's star rises Negishi tries to satisfy both worlds, but can he? No. No, he can't.
