some shots as we tore the 'vert apart in the backyard. lots of hidden rot. someone was playing a naughty trick we spotted. plus better to take apart so we can see all that needed to be done.
tsk tsk what some buy and sell people will do to cover up to try to get a better price. we saw some spot welding on the door and gobs of masilya to cover up an amateurish body work job.
well. dont have loads to spend on for the restoration so worked with what we had to get a "driver" going. Yet a solid one that wouldnt fall apart.
parts like interior and weatherstrip and hard to find bits came from various sources both local and in North America (kasi got some snaps and other items as far of as canada).

some more shots of the work as we took it apart. making sure the insides were all clean is essential.rust is car cancer and all steps must be taken to remove and prevent it. and the best way is to take apart and replace panels as need be.

its all in the details they say. a mustang coupe and a convertible dont have the same windows. it isn't even noticeable but if you know it is glaringly obvious. there is a slight even negligible curve at the edge for convertibles. as opposed to a right angle for a coupe. so a pair had to be imported from outside. good thing they arrived unscathed. whew.
and while they were in transit much prep was goin on to get body prepped. it was tedious process as itwas taken to metal. primed. painted. checked for undulations on the surface. sanded down again as close to metal.primed.painted. repeat.Last edited by midinite; March 11th, 2007 at 06:06 PM.
