    hello everyone,

just got my 2018 Mazda CX9. does anyone know how to properly install the plate card holder (front) on the cx9? or does anyone know a better alternative to the plate card holder that originally came with the cx9?

thanks in advance for the reply.

Should be no different from the CX5. There must be a front plate adapter that came w/ your unit. Check your trunk.
The front bumper likely has dimples as drill guides for centered install. Just slap on some 3M tape on your temp plate.

thanks for the reply. yes it came with 2 plate adapters which you are supposed to secure using the supplied rivet. you also need to drill 2 holes. it is because of this that i am trying to seek info on other options regarding plate card holders. im a little bit squimish at the thought of drilling holes on the front bumpers of my cx9

actually that's what i did now, just used double sided 3m to fasten my plastic temporary plates. however i ordered an embossed temporary plate and wanted to install this using the plate holder.

3M has different VHB & mounting tapes of different load ratings. I saw the 5lbs available over at Ace & True Value...this:
3M Scotch 4011 Permanent Outdoor Mounting Double Sided Tape Holds upto 5 lbs | eBay
It might hold your OE plate adapter w/o the rivets.
My allergy to drilling was exactly the reason for the 2 & 3's No-Drill Plate Relocator's birth.[emoji4]
