May 6th, 2020 01:08 AM #43.3 Skyactiv-D smells like the current 2.2 with an added half block for an inline-6 setup.
That's gonna be some incredible torque steer if Mazda slaps it on a FWD lol. Probably why they're shifting to the RWD platform.

The question now is the premium upon which that new V6 diesel commands. Right now, the SkyActiv 2.2D is considerably more expensive than the SkyActiv 2.5G. For the Mazda6, the SkyActiv 2.2D and SkyActiv 2.5T are 300k more compared to the SkyActiv 2.5G.

May 6th, 2020 11:29 AM #8Lexus is taking full advantage, unit prices dropped by at least 500k across the range immediately. Pajeros SRP went down by a lot, IIRC those were already at 3.2M+ pre-TRAIN.
But our CX5/CX8 units are sourced from Malaysia. Hard to say how costing will differ but either way, expect close to 2.5M pricing. Mazda prioritizes margin over volume anyway.
I'm more interested in a CX-9 RWD with that inline-6 3.3L diesel. Poor man's Audi Q7.
