September 4th, 2024 09:45 AM #92Majority of the reason is the price, second is the segment it is competing with.
For the same price (1.9-2.0M), much better to get SUVs, 7 seater + diesel are the main advantages.
For its segment specially for a 5 seater crossover category, there are less than 1.5M out there that will still cater the needs of most pinoys.
Why not spend 1.9m if you can buy cheaper and OK car on 1.5M or below.
Reason why Yaris Cross is flooding the streets right now.
Another impossible scenario: If majority of pinoys are RICH.
Possible they will embrace this Mazda car given the competitors won't up the notch in their current offering.
But if it will again flood the streets, probably some Rich buyers will turn on other car models that are not common in the streets.
