Driving to Vigan at Night from Metro Manila

I'm going to Vigan with some relatives this weekend and I'm planning to depart from Paranaque at around 11pm and just try use MacArthur highway all the way there, has anybody tried this before? Just want to ask if this is something you'd recommend. ( A friend recommended to me to do this to apparently save toll fees lol.)

My family frequently travels up North ( Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Pangasinan Area) but we haven't tried departing from Metro Manila during night time or actually use MacArthur highway starting from Monumento.

I've tried it and I don't recommend it.

It takes longer (+45 min to Pangasinan even at 3am) and is far more stressful as you can't use cruise control and have to stay alert for tricycles, pedestrians, and cars parked on the road.

Total toll is just ~550 pesos one way from Manila to Pozzorubio.

Usual travel time to Vigan assuming you take the highways is about 7-8 hrs.

Fastest I've done was 4.5 hrs (1am-5am) but only if you consistently go at 200 kph on SCTEX/TPLEX and maintain 80-140 on McArthur.

The drive from pozzorubio exit all the way to Vigan was great. Just got back yesterday from there.
