I was just watching the latest episode of The Gadget Show and they were featuring an in-car AV entertainment system with GPS navigation.

I was wondering if there is any locally sold in-car AV system with GPS navigation functionality? How much?

Check out the in-dash CX-G1004 (single DIN) and CX-G2004 (double DIN) at:

    http://www.carsthetics.com/carsthetics/

You probably missed it, but it was mentioned in the GPS Navigation System (merged thread) on page 28.

I guess I missed it since I am not following that thread that closely. Would you happen to know how much the units cost (or at least the 1DIN with GPS)?

GPS ready usually means you have to purchase the GPS receiver separately along with the program & maps needed to run it.

Any GPS unit will work here and anywhere in the world as long as you have the maps (GPS calibrated) for your location. If you don't have the map, you'll only get the coordinates of your current location.

Carsthetics ... It might be a re-badged generic HU, but that's just a wild guess.

Yes they do, but I think the software and map are optional, filed on a memory card. It should be a simple matter of plugging it in and the app should self-install.

From the demo video, it seems the detailed map coverage is limited to Metro-Manila, Cebu and Davao for the moment. It should include the major provincial roads though.

Sorry, no ... and the website doesn't list it. But they do have an e-mail inquiry form and the company's contact details are on the website.

Any locally sold car headunit with GPS?
