To be able to determine the appropriate tire for ur rim try this computation sample:
Let say ur stock tire is 185x60R14: this means that the tire's width is 185 mm, the height/profile is 60% of the width and the rim is 14" in diameter.
OVERALL DIAMETER OF WHEEL=(185)(.60)2 + 14(25.4) = 355.6mm
the 14(25.4) is the dia. of rim in cm.
Say you want to change the rim to 15" AND 195cm WIDE:
PROFILE OF TIRE (%) = {355.6 - [15(25.4)]} DIVIDED BY [(195)2]= approx. .50
PROFILE OF TIRE = .50X100 = 50. THEREFORE A 195X50R15 WHEEL IS REQUIRED
By using this formula, u will know if u u need 40, 50, or 60 tire.
Hope this helps.:P
