July 22nd, 2003 12:14 PM #1Ive got a 2000 Kia Carnival LS AT with 88'000km with a few upgrades like
3M tint
Crimestopper Alarm
Audio/Video System
Additional Sound Deadening
Hella Horns
100watt headlights
Dunlop Tires
7 Seater Conversion
Trailer Tow bar
Im now interested in replacing the shocks. Feeling ko due for replacement na rin sila anyway. Iba na ang ride niya. Im looking for shocks that would provide a better highway ride for my kia.
Any owners out there with experiences replacing shocks. What do you recommend for the Carnival? How much?
Any other useful/nice upgrades you can recommend?

shocks? why not try Bilstein! its track-record has been well established here in tsikot.com posters!
as it is, it seems that your rig is well set-up'ed!!!
try adding some bio-diesel for better emission!

IJD180,
Welcome aboard. Sorry, I can't recommend any upgrades. I just wanted to ask about what sort of additional sound deadening you installed in your Carnival. I have a 2002 model, and although I am comfortable with the already low noise level inside the cabin, its never a bad idea to aspire for a more quiet ride.

July 23rd, 2003 03:58 PM #10Mikey177,
The additional sound deadening in the Kia was necessary to stop my A/V subwoofer and door speakers from vibrating the metal body panels creating unwanted sounds. A rubber/asphalt sheet was installed in the inside of the doors and rear hatch. And an additional layer of carpet was installed in the flooring by seatmate.
so far no vibrations yet.
