January 14th, 2013 11:48 PM #4731Why do some people change their emblems? Was that a rhetorical question Leo?? Couldn't quite tell with your accompanying grin
Anyway, if it wasn't and you really have to ask, it's sort of like the same reason some people choose to dye their hair a different color, or have it cut a different way. A car emblem has no actual mechanical/electronic function. It is something visual that identifies a vehicle's brand. So changing it does not negatively affect the vehicle's function. Having said that, most people change them (at least I did) for aesthetic purposes. I like the way the K emblem looks; I think it looks cooler than the stock one. It doesn't stray from the brand because it is an original KIA emblem variant in Korea, so it's not pretentious. Unlike some guys who put TURBO decals on their non-turbo vehicles. And since it's not very common or known, there is a novelty factor that sets my Sportage apart from the majority. It may intrigue some people and cause them to do a double-take. Eventually, the novelty will wear off as they become more common, but I'd still like the way it looks
I hope you're not gonna ask next why some people put chrome trimmings on their Sportages. Iba na ang sasagot sa iyo

January 15th, 2013 10:21 AM #4733Just gave the Sportage it's 2013 New Years gift....a nice home detail. Washed, Clayed, 1 coat Klasse All in One, 2 passes of Klasse Sealant glaze....2 days inabot for curing. Prepping it up for some Collinite tomorrow. Lots of elbow grease but worth it since my daughter was pitching in to detail. Post ko pics pag natapos lahat.

January 15th, 2013 11:06 AM #4735I know this belongs sa detailing thread but since yung Kia naman yung na detail then might as well share na din. Im a firm believer that if you take good care of your car, it takes good care of you as well. And indeed....lots of work sir. Yung Klasse was a bitch to remove. Didnt want to use polishers so braso lang talaga. The the results were great even with just the initial pass ng Klasse....now i know what the detailers are raving about it. Can just imagine what more if i use the carnauba waxes pa to top it. Also, yung pag detail ko served as good bonding time with my 7 year old daughter since she likes tinkering with "boy" stuff hahaha.

No worries sir, that wasn't rhetorical and I'm not trying to make a point. Really just curious about those emblems
I didn't know that those K were still Kia originals. I'm pretty sure they're for aesthetic purposes, but at first I thought that you guys were just dumping the KIA logo for another logo. Sorry for the confusion though, and thanks for the added info. And yeah, I think they're cooler than the stock one.
