Paano mo sir nasabi na gastado na yun mechanism. kasi yun sa akin nagoopen yun pinakaswitch dun sa lever pero hindi mo mabuksan yun pinto. at first akala ko actuator ang nasira or na loose lang ito. then nung tinignan ko at pinagaralan ko yun system I found out everytime na mag lock yun door hindi na bumababa yun harang sa kawitan kaya ayaw bumukas. nilagyan ko lang ng wd40 ok na ulit hindi na kailangan ng pokpok.

sir ang laki inabot ng bill mo a. My car is already out of warranty na ngayon kaya ako na kumakalikot ng lahat and mas ok pa na ako nga ang nagchecheck at nagmemaintain ngayon at least lesser na ang cost ko at hindi ko kailangan palitan ang pyesang ayos naman pero nasa isip nila sira. Like for instance yun aircon ko. sinisingil sa akin ng casa e almost 50k to change my compressor, DOY ng dad ko total cost namin is only 1200.00 good as new yun aircon ko ulit ang lamig na ulit.

Mschu ...I'm also planning to DIY the EGR cleaning nung Carens ko. Out of warranty na rin. I think nagkita tayo before nung active pa ang Signet sa Kia
San po ba ang location nung EGR and what do you use to clean it?
I'd really appreciate if you can share your experience here.

August 24th, 2011 10:42 PM #588eto po ang aking Latest DIY - Rain guard (after install, it was fairly easy and reasonably priced).

August 24th, 2011 11:00 PM #590exhaust system de-carbonizing continued...
eto na last pix (although ang dami ini-skip pix in the cam, hirap upload eh) hehe.
eto lang for reference, pix ng Isuzu Hilander. may pasadya syang welded pipe sa exhaust manifold
para easier to load water and washing detergent with the red water hose....
Final note: please do so at your own risk....but in the end i think its all worth it.... i've done some reading about impacts of water to the rare earth metals used in our catalytic converter - none.... also have consulted this with Kia Alabang Service center....they admitted that they do this method of exhaust pipe cleaning....so i went for it....
in the 2nd. repeatition, i was really scared when engine won't start at all.... siguro sobra napuno ng tubig cylinder pressure wasn't enough to blow the water out....so that had me worried that it killed my engine.....pero lo and behold, after several attempts, it did start....
total i did it three times, the last once the water coming out was really much cleaner....
and so now my exhaust (the car that is) is much cleaner/no black smoke.... since nalinisan din yung carbon build-up sa Catalytic converter dahil lots of idling in Metro Traffic, now its able to do its job..... saka yung may advice earlier on that u do need at least about 30sec. of high RPM run so catalytic converter is able to burn the soot that's coming out of the engine.... now engine my ride more and more...
