Lagi kong ginagawa ito at least once a month.

Like for instance yun aircon ko. sinisingil sa akin ng casa e almost 50k to change my compressor, DOY ng dad ko total cost namin is only 1200.00 good as new yun aircon ko ulit ang lamig na ulit.

i would like to share my 50k pms cost for everyone's info:

    total cost is Php 12.5k

in my previous 40k pms, i have complained of some "clank clank" in rough roads, humps, low speed cornering ( pag magpa-park ng pataas ) and it was found to be the stabilizer links, napalitan na lahat at medyo yun yung nagpataas ng cost, feels sturdy again.

on my 55k pms, im planning to have it done sa malapit na talyer, bili na lang ako ng materials and just pay for the labor

Mschu ...I'm also planning to DIY the EGR cleaning nung Carens ko. Out of warranty na rin. I think nagkita tayo before nung active pa ang Signet sa Kia San po ba ang location nung EGR and what do you use to clean it?

I'd really appreciate if you can share your experience here.

eto po ang aking Latest DIY - Rain guard (after install, it was fairly easy and reasonably priced).

then eto naman yung promise to perform exhaust pipe de-carbonizing....
    Step1: lagay tubig/sabon/tubig/sabon

Step2: pag napuno na, start your engine....

    exhaust system de-carbonizing continued...

eto na last pix (although ang dami ini-skip pix in the cam, hirap upload eh) hehe.

para easier to load water and washing detergent with the red water hose....

Final note: please do so at your own risk....but in the end i think its all worth it.... i've done some reading about impacts of water to the rare earth metals used in our catalytic converter - none.... also have consulted this with Kia Alabang Service center....they admitted that they do this method of exhaust pipe cleaning....so i went for it....

in the 2nd. repeatition, i was really scared when engine won't start at all.... siguro sobra napuno ng tubig cylinder pressure wasn't enough to blow the water out....so that had me worried that it killed my engine.....pero lo and behold, after several attempts, it did start....

total i did it three times, the last once the water coming out was really much cleaner....
and so now my exhaust (the car that is) is much cleaner/no black smoke.... since nalinisan din yung carbon build-up sa Catalytic converter dahil lots of idling in Metro Traffic, now its able to do its job..... saka yung may advice earlier on that u do need at least about 30sec. of high RPM run so catalytic converter is able to burn the soot that's coming out of the engine.... now engine my ride more and more...
