siempre ganyan talaga Casa....change parts lagi. kasi dyan sila mas kikita ng pera...and besides kung repair repair lang i don't think they can give u the warranty. goodluck on your repair...mukhang matinding sakit ng ulo yan and not to mention a boatload of cash....

    Just to update you guys....

If you recall, I posted here a few months ago that my Carens was unfortunately flooded during Storm Ondoy. In any case, it was towed to Kia Pasig last 02 October 2009. Partial approval of my insurance claim came around mid-November. Since then, my car has been sitting in the warehouse/service center of Kia (first, in Pasig; then transferred to Bicutan; then, I heard that it will be brought back to Pasig) since then. Supposedly, it has already been thoroughly cleaned to prevent further deterioration BUT major repairs have not yet begun because the replacement parts have not yet arrived.

My question is: how long does it take for an order of parts to come in? It's been more than two (2) months since Kia has been duly authorized by my insurance company to begin repairs and yet nothing can be done because the parts are not available. And, in all honesty, I am getting really really frustrated. What do I do?

Sir Mqavila so you opted to have your Carens repaired and you intend to keep it. I thought it was declared as a total loss..anyway, I can understand your frustration. Maybe to save on cost, CAC schedule the shipping of parts together with the shipping of Carens units. It would be to their advantage but not to us owners.

I hope Kia Pasig could give you a straight and definite answer as to when the parts will arrive so that you will not be kept in the dark for too long..

    to mqavila

sana pina total loss mo na lang as i posted sa above, na victim din ako (waist line level)... pero dami pa problema after saka di lahat kaya gawin ng casa (or kaya pero mahal abutin lalo na wala akong insurance).... puro whole assembly mga papalitan sayo sir based on your description... it may take anywhere from a month to six months to fix flooded cars depending on severity and parts availability... and of course, availability ng mga service personnel ng casa... remember, they may be doing hundreds of flooded cars just like yours.

however, if you can try to have your Carens done at KIA NORTH EDSA, magaling ang service nila doon. mine only took almost a month. fortunate lang ako nung pinasok ko carens ko, wala pa silang customer na nabaha ako yata first na pumasok... pero napuno din agad dealership nila kasi may mga Ford units din silang inaayos (Laos Auto Group). But im satisfied naman... they STRIPPED whole interior (including all wiring, dashboard, seats, carpeting) and dried all connectors, ECU, etc etc, flushed all ATF (5x) and engine oil (3x) and other servicing requirements for flooded vehicles (may checklist sila ng mga gagawin).... pero as ive mentioned marami pa akong pinagawa outside of casa (door locks, alarm, backsensor, foglight relay, aircon compressor bearing, etc)....

nabaha din carens (lx) ko (upto waist line level) during ondoy, but after almost a month at kia north edsa... naayos din (at pati sa banawe para sa mga di naayos na parts).... buti na lang lx lang sakin at walang airbag at abs if not, baka umabot ng 150k or more ang repairs.... inabot lang ako ng 40k sa casa at almost 10k sa banawe (para sa doorlocks, alarm, foglight relay)

    to revo,
yung power windows mo malamang assembly na papalitan... sigurado sunog motor ng power windows mo. yung power locks.... 10 to 12k ang set nyan... believe me ive tried to have it converted to the taiwan motor (yung may rod type)... pero di pwede sa carens. Yung mga lights mo malamang grounded... may mga relay, fuse at wiring na baka palitan... pati instrument panel malamang assembly.... mahirap kalagayan ng sayo... malaki pa gastos at matagal pa pagpapaayos... i suggest assembly na brand new talaga sa lahat ng affected parts if you're not brave enough to do conversions....
