Isuzu Crosswind bags "AUV of the Year" award

MANILA, Philippines - The people have spoken – or voted – and they catapulted the Isuzu Crosswind as the Best AUV in the BDO 2010-2011 Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards. Auto Focus is a weekly motoring TV program hosted by respected motoring broadcast and print journalist Ray Butch Gamboa. The annual motoring survey is designed to show the most popular vehicles among consumers in the Philippine automotive market. The public voted through the survey’s website or printed ballots.
Already in its sixth year, the contest aims to find out which among locally available motor vehicles are the most preferred by the buying public. This year, most of the competing vehicles will be displayed in the forthcoming Auto Focus Motor Show & Auto Expo on November 4-7 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
The People’s Choice Awards is special because it is the public who gets to choose the winners. Since it is the customers who vote, winners are guaranteed to be the best-selling and hence the most trusted products in the local auto industry.
“The voting was intense and very close in many of the categories, except for a few, which really had hands-down winners,” said Gamboa, the chairman and CEO of Sunshine Television.
The Crosswind won for the fifth time as Best AUV since the awards’ launch in 2005, also winning the prestigious over-all automobile of the year in 2006. Isuzu vehicles are popular with image-conscious and price-conscious Filipino car buyers because of their affordability, powerful and fuel-efficient diesel [COLOR=blue ! important][COLOR=blue ! important]engines[/color][/color], value-for-money features, reliability and professional after-sales service.
“We are not surprised that the Crosswind was favored by many Filipino consumers,” said IPC President Ryoji Yamazaki. “Filipinos do relate to the Crosswind’s toughness and dependability, and they can see in it their hardworking selves. It is truly the vehicle of the masses.”
“These awards will further motivate all IPC employees to produce vehicles of world-class quality,” Yamazaki added. “Products made by Filipinos for Filipinos.”
The people have spoken: The Isuzu Crosswind is still the best AUV in the market today. Those who remain unconvinced may visit any authorized Isuzu dealership nationwide for a chance to test-drive the Crosswind. I agree it's about time Isuzu returns the favor by upgrading the decade old engine and adding more safety features. Come on IPC, you can't continue doing just facelift every year and adding exterior/interior aesthetics.

I agree it's about time Isuzu returns the favor by upgrading the decade old engine and adding more safety features. Come on IPC, you can't continue doing just facelift every year and adding exterior/interior aesthetics.

Few negatives about the 2010 crosswind.
- expensive
- what's new ? body. heh.
- still no safety features
- slow ( i mean, 150-160 for an AUV is still doable, why limit it to 130 ? :rofl01: )
- engineeeeeeeeeeeeeee so damn old.

Positives
- cheap maintenance
- seats plenty
- sturdy body ( or at least on how it looks like )
- cool a/c

~ for the pre-facelift crosswind buyers, all I can say is congrats. atleast you never did buy your unit at a very hefty price.

~ come one isuzu phils, change the looks, the engine, everything ! para naman maging makatarungan yung 1M+ na price for the sportivo. i can understand mitsubishi on their adventure's case, kasi yun ... MURA.

anyway, congratulations to isuzu.

yup, layo na ng price difference ng Adventure at Crosswind. Top Adventure Super Sport retails for only 925K and has about most feature of the Sportivo (1.155M) except for the fancy entertainment feature. The Adventure even has a steering wheel audio controls and tire pressure monitor.

hmm yung para sa montero? naks ha. hahaha. sana ibahin din nila itsura ng controls para sa aircon etc.. haha oldskul eh. )
