October 22nd, 2006 08:40 PM #1Hello, kabibili ko lang po ng 2 new tires for my xt, nung ipa-align ko na napansin nung mechanic na umuuga yung gulong, tinignan nila at nakita na umuuga yung tawag nilang idler arm o center post, may naka-experience na po ba sa inyo nito? TIA

I had my idler arm centerpost assembly changed recently, kung madalas ka malubak or high mileage ka na, may chance nga na lumuwag na yun. ano na ba mileage mo? medyo mahirap din gibain yun centerpost na yan. Ako more than 110,000km when I had mine changed and it was not totally loose. ang nag loosen yung tie rods and centerlink.

Idler Arm is prone to wear and tear. Because everytime you turn it serves as a hinge and at the same time absorbs the shocks and movements of the front suspension. Maingay yan pag talagang loose na.
Ang partner niyan ay ang pitman arm. but this part is not expose to wear because they have no ball joints.

rsnald,

I'm planning to replace the idler arm and the center post of my XTRM this weekend. Should I go OEM or Thailand replacement?

I've the idler arm and the centerlink bushing replaced yesterday at Wheelers. Walco quoted it for P1200 for the Thai-made replacement. I got them from LVC for only P850. Same brand and identity.
