guys, need advise on what to do:

    here's the story

    before January 16:
i received a call from the LTO assigned clerk at the dealership that the plate number for our tucson is ready for release with 511 as the 3-digit number. after a day or two, they sent me a fax copy of my OR & CR so that i can travel and get the plates. to my surprise, the 3-digit number is no longer the same as what they told me. instead of the 511, it's now 811. i just assumed that the clerk made a mistake and gave me the wrong numbers.

    January 16:
we went to the dealership and they installed the plate numbers since the rear needs drilling. i asked for the original copy of my OR & CR (since i bought it in cash) but they requested that i be given a photocopy instead since the stickers are not yet available. they will give me the original copy when the sticker arrives. so i agreed to their request and was given a photocopy similar to what they sent thru fax but much clearer. i wasn't able to see the original OR & CR.

    before January 23:
my cousin received a call from the LTO assigned clerk at the dealership to inform me that the sticker has arrived and it's ready for release.

    January 23:
we went to the dealership and received the stickers together with the original OR & CR. i noticed that the OR & CR was tampered. the plate number portion was erased with a liquid eraser and the plate number with 811 was typed using a typewriter. i asked the clerk about this and said it's ok.

i really think that the OR & CR of your car is already a public document and it should not be tampered. tampering is an offense so we're not really convinced with the clerk's answer. i decided to check the records of my plate with number 811 thru LTO text service and "no record found" was the reply. i also checked the records of plate with 511 (supposedly our plate number as what the dealership first informed me until they changed it to 811) and to my very big surprise, it was registered as our hyundai tucson. it has the exact same information found on the OR & CR. i know that the registration was for our tucson because we are the only one's who purchased a noble white color from the dealership plus it also has the same date of registration found in the OR & CR.

we also checked the OR & CR by raising it behind a bright light. guess what? the plate number that was erased using a liquid eraser has the 511 digits. so this means that the real plate number of our tucson is the 511 and not the 811 that was given to us.

because of the shocking discoveries, we immediately contacted the LTO assigned clerk regarding this matter. he said that the plate number with 511 was taken away by someone else without his knowledge so he substituted it with plate number 811. i was shocked by what he said. it means that he made the tampering all by himself and that the LTO was not aware of this.

i told him that he should straighten up our registration. he should also give us the correct plate number and issue a new set of OR & CR that is not tampered. he promised that he will do this by tomorrow, Monday January 25. we will wait for the result tomorrow.

what if he can not straighten our registration by tomorrow? what should i do?
we're thinking of talking to the manager of the dealership or seek an advice from a lawyer regarding this issue.

    please help.

    thank you very much.

If I were you ... I would report that immediately and get the police involve. Why? Who took the plates in the first place? If those plates were to be used in a crime ... guess who will the police go after? YES! YOU! They will probably impound your brand new Tucson if you don't file the necessary police report if those plates were to be used in a crime. So ... protect yourself to any future headaches.

You also need to inform Hyundai's Managers about the BULLSXXT job that agent tried to pull on you! For all you know, that agent might be in cahoots with those bad guys. Just ask yourself this ... why would he make a FAKE plate unbeknownst to you? That is a serious crime as you and your family can get hurt. So don't bend backwards for him or anyone! Impose your right for justice!

Inform the manager, then ask for a new car. Why, your paper has been tampered, it'll give you a big headache come registration after 3 years. And guess what after three years? your dealer wont give a bull about your registration problem since they already have your money And vehicle warranty doesn't cover registration...

Ubos ang mga CR forms ng LTO these days. I've been waiting for the transfer of ownership of our car for the past 2 weeks. Hindi nila magawa dahil walang CR form ang mga LTO Branches dahil sa anumalya ng kanilang Supplier..... Ridiculous!

Continue to press, but keep this in mind....

Thats really terrible. If you know somebody in the NBI or you can report this to the NBI. What they dealer did tantamount to Falsification of Public Documents. That is a CRIME already. Matatakot yun dealer sayo. You should really do something cause this is a winning case on your part. Good Luck. By the way what dealer is this ??? para ma iwasan ng ibang members.

    hello guys!

thank you very very much for your replies. greatly appreciated.

    update lang.

the LTO assigned clerk at the dealership promised me last saturday that first thing monday morning (January 25, today), he will fix this issue. guess what? he never showed up at work. so i called up my SA for a follow-up about my issue but to no avail. i also called up the dealership's sales manager and told him about this issue. he told me that the customer relations manager would call me. they're just passing me around in circles.

    to make the story short,
i made the initiative to talk to an LTO Officer and asked for his opinion regarding the issue just this afternoon. i told him everything. he even checked from his computer the plate number with 511 and it was indeed registered under my name with exact same details of my tucson while the plate number with 811 has no record.

he told me that the the alteration of the OR & CR is acceptable since the alteration was initialed. this gave me a slight sign of relief. he also told me that the registration of number 511 be voided and erased from their system immediately and that the 811 should be registered under my name together with the details of my tucson. the details for 811 should also be uploaded to the system asap.

i immediately called up the dealership's customer relations manager regarding this. he promised me that he will call me back by afternoon tomorrow re the status of my registration. this really was a sign of relief. i really hope for the best and that this dilemma would end peacefully.
