February 28th, 2014 02:45 PM #1Hi guys,
Many times I couldn't turn my ignition key to start my Tucson. One time I almost twisted the car key itself.
I tried to turn the steering wheel but this sometimes does not solve the problem. I tried to release the footbreak, etc. Then voila it I ca all of a sudden turn the ignition.
I coudn't figure out what exactly is causing it or what the solution is.
Anyone else ience this?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

It happened to my sister's Elantra today as well. It happens to all cars with steering wheel locks. I think it's just more evident (locked tighter) on Electronic Power Steering units. You just have to turn the tight steering wheel a few millimeters in one direction enough to loosen the lock on the key.
