cardo: Torque is 335Nm * 1800-3500rpm (AFAIK)
chuaa: sounds normal to me. The ECU upshifts at 1,800rpm matching a certain speed. High RPM doesn't automatically reflect upshifting.
yuichi: we just idle it for 1-2mins. Medyo hassle lang sa stop and go travelling. Not sure if Turbo Timer would void warranty.Last edited by Horsepower; November 9th, 2006 at 03:31 PM.

Well before I asked Erod branch regarding turbo timer and they did say warranty will be voided, so like what others do i just cool it down. Once service guy said it really does not need one daw he said something regarding the turbo being different than others. i really did not pay attention to what he said kasi with my question re. turbo timers parang clueless na siya...

Guys about turbo timer.

November 10th, 2006 07:05 PM #567Saw a white Santa FE and Ifell in love. Guys help me coz my dad might purchase 1. Whats the difference between the crdi and the v6? is it the engine only? Are there features in the gas that the diesel dont have? What do you think is a better buy? Im trying to borrow a unit for a test drive b4 we purchase but its got my dads vote already coz of the looks of the santa fe.Ive read reviews and it looks like the better choice is the diesel. Any1 here who was able to test or use both variants? Thanks

if gasoline price is not an issue, mag V6 ka na lang. but I believe the smarter choice is the CRDi, for the most obvious Philippine Economy reason hehehe.

and regarding turbo timer, ano ba talaga yan? been using my santa fe for almost 3 months now, bukas-patay ako ng makina just like ordinary cars. even my 6-yr old turbo strada, ganyan din ang nakagawian ko. may issue ba talaga?Last edited by oldblue; November 11th, 2006 at 05:02 AM.

I think the owner of the pampanga dealership is more daring than the other dealers. I remember when i was asking regarding the HID when I first got my car, I went to xenon bulbs (araneta) according to them, they install some of the toyotas oem HIDs and they have installed one on the santa fe already. I said "bilis naman" i was on wait for my unit for weeks pero may nakabitan na kayo.. Sagot niya-- pampanga dealership. yung owner nagpakabit.

Well i know that turbos need to cool down meaning the oil that goes thru it should cool it down.. (tama ba guys) Anyway about 6 years ago i went on a long trip with my friend who has a land cruiser VX turbo. Had his car for quite sometime. Anyways no turbo timer so hataw, long drives and so on.. On one stretch near pagudpud sipa yung turbo.. really loud sound car over revving thought nga sasabog. car would not stop on its own (though on neutral) until na ubos yung oil. So we said patay blowby auto. Towed it to town there was this import specialist naman and said.. fried yung turbo... had to bypass turbo. drove home the car hirap without turbo. he had it replaced with a new turbo about 100 -150k ata plus a 2k turbo timer. Everybody said turbo has to cool down talaga. What a expensive vaction for him. I bought a starex after that incident and remebered what happened to him so i followed the cooling down for a minute or two after a long drive. and so far sold the car after 5 years, no problems with turbo naman.
