Pero if it bypasses the starter circuit while activated, then the engineers at Hyundai did a pretty good job. It's normal and should be the correct process IMO. Diesel yan eh,

Is the glow plug indicator supposed to come on? First time with a Diesel and it doesn't come on on my unit even at cold start.

I also noticed that I have a P0381 OBD error (Glow Plug/Heater Indicator Circuit Malfunction). It's been there since I got my Accent which I thought was normal.

On cold starts ba, one click ka pa rin pag nag crank?

Yup. No starting issues naman. Just surprised that there is a a glow plug indicator pala which could be why I was getting the OBD2 error. Can anyone confirm?

Baka kaya nag error kasi pundi lang yung bulb ng indicator? Have it checked on your PMS habang nasa warranty. Mukhang easy fix lang siguro yan.

Can you take a pic of your gauge cluster with the indicator on? I'll show it to the CASA next time i'm there. BTW, have you tried using an OBD to read your car?

Yup it should come on when you put it on Acc as it is an important part of a diesel engine before starting although mine only lights up for a second then im good to go lol. If there was an error since you got the unit you should have already asked them. It may have other complications if you dont get it fixed. Its always better to get it checked right away especially if the concern is engine related. just my 2 cents

same with mine sir, pag on iilaw ng about a second then good to go na, kahit malamig yung weather hehe. dati hinahanap ko glow indicator d ko makita, ginawa ko pag on wait na lang ako ng 5 seconds or so bago start hehe. andito pala sa lower left part ng gauge yung glow indicator lagi ko pa naman hinahanap sa gitna kaya d ko nakita agad nyahahaha.

Yes the glow plug indicator light is off when it happend. 2 seconds lang usually on yung light indicator before it turns off. The longest non cranking I recorded was around 10 seconds before the engine crank to life. Will have it check na lang siguro. It could be the bypass circuit on the glowplug having problems or defective. Akala nya on pa yung glow plug but off na pala.. Will update this post on any findings..
