May 17th, 2011 10:47 PM #1Hi good day guys!
I just want to ask if any of you guys have seen, heard or experienced ur Tucson's Frame / caha thats bending when one of the rear tires is in an uneven surface, causing the doors to misalign?
A friend of mine who is also from Baguio, owns a 2.0GL eVGT Tucson is experiencing that problem. As of this point in time this issue is already a case filed to DTI since Hyundai La Union refuses to replace the vehicle, since they claim that it is "part of the design".
Can anyone shed some light on this topic?
TIA!

May 17th, 2011 11:45 PM #3so sir normal ito para sa tucson? pag gumagalaw kasi ung kaha nya, ung rear door nya nag oopen and ung front doors sumasayad. Also pati ung hood nya and grille gumagalaw din.
regarding sa hindi properly nagamit, hmm possible uneven kasi parking ng bahay nya, pero he is arguing din na hindi ganun ka extreme ang terrain ng parking nya.
BTW thanks for the quick reply

Some amount of body flexing is acceptable. However, it should not be enough to cause doors to bind or open by itself.

May 18th, 2011 09:10 AM #7sir oj88 so is this case normal? maybe Hyundai La Union ddnt handle the situation well, kaya umabot sa puntong kaso na sa DTI. Anyway when the car's body flexes to a certain point, indoor lights turn on, including the rear baggage compartment light. is this still acceptable?

May 18th, 2011 09:22 AM #8this is somewhat scary. kung nabasa ko siguro to before nagdalawang isip na kong bumili ng tucson. anyway may pics ba kayo nun pag flex ng body ng tucson? baka kelangan na natin lagyan ng mga bar para mas rigid. this could also be the reason bakit maganda din ride ng tucson, body ang nagaabsorb.

May 18th, 2011 09:33 AM #9sir rereyes, yes indeed pag first time mong marinig it is somewhat scary...
when the car goes back to an even surface bumabalik naman alignment ng doors.
If ever this is really a defect. HARI should order a recall for our vehicles! alangan naman tayong end user pa ang gagastos for placing bars on the frame or whatever solution for our frame not to move. hey we bought our vehicles with trust and confidence from HARI dealers right?

May 18th, 2011 01:53 PM #10Flexing that causes doors to misalign is unusual for a modern monocoque design like the Tucson. Shell rigidity is usually the prerequisite to a quiet car with good handling and tight tolerances between panels.
Older cars from the '90s and earlier exhibited body flex that caused rattles, creaks, groans, and handling inconsistencies. Hence the flourishing backyard strutbar trade
Barring collision damage (enough to warp the shell) and manufacturing defects, I'd say the flex is inherent to the vehicle. But maybe Tucson owners can confirm this.
Cheers
