    some years ago,
    toyota had a similar problem with their camrys.
    some cars would guzzle oil.
    it was eventually traced to, basically, engine design.
    their recommendation, short of significant engine repair, was to practice regular oil change, and monitor closely oil levels.
    i do not know, how this affected their cars' emissions test results.

    let us wait for local manufacturers' comments.
