I also got mine Dec. 2011. but AFAIK the 5 years warranty goes like 3 + 2; the latter 2 years only covers the powertrain ( engine, transmission, drive shafts, differentials, and the final drive).

Please update this if you've got coverage aside from the powertrain past your 3yrs. warranty.

Had mine repaired last weekend. Steering coupling daw ang tawag sa part na pinalitan. Job was done under warranty. Very cheap nga lang yung part at P56.85. Sinabay ko na sa 60K PMS. I see your elantra is even younger than mine by almost half a year.

BTW, here's what the coupling looked like:

Its made of hard rubber.
