Transmission Conversion

hey im new here.. anyway..

I own a Civic 1996 VTI as a gift from my parents(college). Nung unang dating ng kotse tuwang tuwa ako.. pag bukas ko ng door mejo na dismaya ako sabi ko sa sarili ko "ay MATIC.." pero la na ako magagawa bigay lang naman eh.. gusto ko sana pa convert to manual.. possible ba?

if YES possible.. here are my Q's.

1. First of all ung costing syempre. (surplus and the mamahalin)

2. Mga gamit na kelangan(parts, brand name etc..).

3. San ok mag pa convert? ung katiwatiwala and REASONABLE mag price.

4. if successful ung conversion.. ano ung magiging drawbacks?

un na lng muna cguro mga tanong ko..

kaya ko gusto magpa convert kasi gusto ko sana setup/tune ung car. ehh nababduyan kasi ako pag kunwari lakas lakas ng kotse nagpa turbo ka pa at supercharger pero nyak automatic pala. kaya sana manual tlga.

additional lang.. Mas ok ba na mag hanap ako sa market ng conversion kit OR mag hanap ako ng same car pero ung owner gusto mag pa convert to automatic naman, bali trade lang kami ng transmission, pag ganon ba scenario sino mag bibigay ng plus bayad?

please wag na mag post ng mga unnecessary comments. (e.g. just buy a new car)

Alam ko napakamahal ng conversion and its nmot even worth considering, your best recourse is to swap that to someone who prefers an automatic...

sir mahirap yung gusto mo mangyari na swap tranny with another that has the m/t... conversion, yes thats possible. pero hindi lang tranny ang prob mo... pati center console kasi mas malaki yung butas ng a/t sa m/t.

yung m/t bihira lang naman masira yung 2nd hand kaya ok lang. if your planning to tune the car... ill suggest get the race type clutch na. i forgot whats it called pero its stiffer than the OEM's...

this can cost you a good 50k give or take... kaya sana sugest ko to get rid of the car then just go ahead and buy the m/t baka 99 or 00 model pa makuha mo.

OT: get the LXi variant na lang kasi kung tune ka... sure papalitan mo yan ng d15b or the b series...

from what i heard with my uncle that is a mechanic and know how to convert transmissions, its gonna cost a 100k petot very costy. if im on your shoes, id sell it and buy a new civic with m/t. but off course with the permission of parents kakahiya naman dba.. hehe

i doubt it can reach a 100k for the conversion... kung brand new siguro papalit pwede pa... pero for a 2nd hand m/t conversion, too much yung 100k.

Look for someone who owns the same model na gusto magmatic , palit kayo tranny, labor nalang bayaran nyo makakatipid ka pa...

What for? IMO, that's a big waste of money. If you have lots of dough to spare, why not get another car with manual transmission? Just be thankful that you got a car as a gift from your parents, period.

By the looks of your post, it seems like you're a new driver. Believe me when I tell you that having a "matic" is way better when maneuvering through the daily traffic that we have in the Metro.

^^Agree! Ayaw ko na mag-manual unless I can guarantee walang traffic yung pupuntahan ko Dati I tried using a manual sa kahabaan ng EDSA during rush hour 6pm believe me its not fun at all

kadami palitin.. not worth kung di mo kakarera yung kotse... madali nga drive at maintain matic wag lang masisira..

kung new driver yung TS then wag na muna galawin... i remember the days na bago pa ko driver then my friend let me loose with his tuned car... damn! almost hit another car. sarap lang talaga drive ng tuned car, damn fast machines! yung balik na ko sa oto ko, nainis ako sa bagal hehehe :bwahaha:

concerning the matic vs manual... i still love driving manual kasi parang walang point to drive matic. parang bump car. hehehe

well, iba iba tayo trip sa tranny...

in conclusion, if you have the money to burn... then go for it pero kung hihingi pa din sa magulang, eeeeeee wag na lang.
