Guys, help naman. kanina kasi biglang hindi nagstart yung car ko. Honda City 2006 1.5 VTEC. Dunno what happened pero bigla na lang ayaw magrespond nung car pag tinuturn ko yung key to start. As in walang response. no sound, engine noise/movement. wala talaga.
i turned on the aircon, radio, wiper, head and fog lights but to no avail. hindi din nagfflicker yung light habang naka-on lahat or pag bumusina which means ok pa yung battery.
although napagana ko ulit siya by turning on everything for at least 2-3minutes. head and fog lights, radio, aircon, wipers. then nung sinara ko na lahat ulit to start, ayun, nagstart na siya.
not sure if this will happen again. hopefully hindi na... ano kaya prob nito mga bro?
TIA!

same thing happens to my mom's 2008 Civic 1.8L ... it won't start. But after shifting the gear selector back and forth then pack to park, it started. Happened a few times already.
I am thinking the "safety switch" in the gear selector might be "sticking".

+1 here. Try checking this first. Of course make sure na nasa P or N ang gear dahil ang A/T ay may safety switch as what v6dreamer said too. Wala talagang magiging redondo kapag naka-engage ang gear mo sa "D", "R" etc.
kung nasa N or P ka na naman and still no redondo, "safety switch" in the gear selector might be "sticking" nga like sir GH said.
and about bad coils on honda, may nabasa na rin akong thread tungkol diyan.
geez, bago pa rin naman yung car mo bro (2006 model) para mangyari kaagad yung mga ganyan. mamaya may kasabay kang chicks sa parking tapos pag-start mo BAM, ayaw magstart dyahe hehe bago pa naman ang car.

Actually i got it 2 weeks ago lang. bought it second hand. i asked the previous owner if nangyari na yun before. hindi pa naman daw. good thing it didn't happen na may kasama akong chick. turn off pag ganun. buti officemates lang kaya ayos pa. hehe
Checked the car this morning and had no problems starting the car. and hoping na it won't happen again anytime soon kasi dinala ko na naman to work.
At least now I have your opinions and if ever this happens again, i/the mechanic will know what to check.
thanks guys!

patricksee,
this sounds like a coincidental occurrence. is the car equipped with automatic transaxle? it might have been that your P/N switch on the PRND2L selector is going bad and by moving about inside the cab the contacts made good connection again. this might be flipflopping between contact and no contact on the switch like flipflopping between english and tagalog-englog-taglish

Check the coil. Honda has a reputation having a bad coil. A bad coil will not pass electricity until it cools down. Also cars with an automatic transmission have a Neutral Safety Switch that allows the starter to be operated only when the transmission is in "Park" or "Neutral" position. Or your car ignition switch could be at faulth. When this switch isn't functioning properly or when the shifter is not fully engaged in "Park" or "Neutral" position, the starter also won't crank.
Make list all the things that you have been check to shorten the probable cause.
