December 8th, 2012 05:49 PM #1Honda serves 4 new Thai-made 2012 CR-V variants
Words and photos by Christopher Kho
Now that production has normalized in the once flood-hit Thailand, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has added four new Thai-built variants to the all-new 2012 CR-V line-up, adding to the two Japan-made versions launched back in April. Welcome the latest members of the crew: the CR-V 2.0V MT and AT, 2.0S AT, and 2.4SX AT.
While there should technically be no difference in build quality with these new batch of Thai-sourced CR-Vs, there are however some changes in the aesthetics department. The most obvious of which is the revised lower chin that has grown some very pronounced corners. Then there's the new piano-black front grill which replaces the previous matte-black piece. It might be hard to notice, but the fresh batch no longer comes with daytime running lights (DRL). And finally, the door handles of the S and ST variants are now covered in chrome.

I think the 2.0 S is the best buy here. Compared to the 2.0 V AT, the S has more goodies for only 65K more. So only get the V if you really want MT. The S is even a better buy compared to the 2.0 LX CBU Japan even at 100K off. Main differences between V and S:
(V) vs (S)
Body color door handles vs chrome
Halogen vs HID
none vs fog lights
Manual AC vs 2-Zone Auto AC
4 speakers vs 6
urethane steering wheel vs leather
fabric seats vs leather
none vs Side Airbags
1.325M vs 1.390M
You can even get the S in White Orchid Pearl for 20K more, not so for the V.

I'd go for the 2.4S-X. Ditch the sunroof!
sobrang liit naman kasi nung sunroof compared to my Tucson and Trooper. Kaya wala rin kwenta. Mas useful yun HID, power folding side mirror at push start system.
Yung DRL kayang gawin ni GaryQ, LED pa para same ng EUDM.
Actually yung 2.0S pwede na.

Wow sulit na 'to ah. But medyo polarizing pa rin yung CR-V. I still prefer the CX-5, but this is a bigger car with a more plush interior and siyempre, Honda prestige (!) so siguradong bebenta 'to.
