August 30th, 2012 08:16 AM #1Mga Sir,
Magtatanong lang ako, meron kasi ako bibilin na 2004 na city this weekend. Okay naman siya according to my mechanic. And okay pa naman itsura. Problem lang wala siyang muffler.
Ask ko lang po ano ba usually nagiging problem ng ganitong model?
Please need your feedback.
Thank you in advance mga Sir.

iDSI ang makina ng Honda City/Jazz 2004-2008(?) old body 1.3L; lean burn ito; at 8 ang spark plugs; have not heard/encountered any issue on the engine.
CVT ang transmission nito. May mga kaso na may problema ito.... Could be one of the reasons why the current models are 5A/Ts.

Lahat ng Honda City at Jazz (2004-2007/2008 models) na A/T ay CVT ang transmission. Ito iyong mga models before the current ones.
Basa ka na lang bro. sa forum dito kung ano ang mga naging problema ng CVT transmission ng Honda... Medyo mahal ang ibang mga naging experience ng ibang tsikoteers.

August 30th, 2012 09:49 AM #7Im using one now. Cvt trans is very nice. Very smooth. Engine is adequate. But would benefit with a bigger one. The chassis has a solid feel to it. Electric power steering is numb but light to steer. Interior good space.
Overtaking in highway speed is a preparation. Havent gone past 120kph yet.
100kph is around 2500rpm on auto.
7speed mode and S mode is a nice option. Use when you want to pass someone quickly. It will give a lower gear than auto mode. Ofcourse higher rpm.
The S mode seems to be the same with the 7speed mode. Havent noticed any difference yet.

August 30th, 2012 09:50 AM #8I didn't have any problems with my City 2006 CVT. THe casa did change my flywheel last october 2011, as a preventive measure. Cost me around 18k. Didn't have any problems since. My Honda mechanic however informed me to monitor and change the CVT fluid religiously at least every 20k km or at least every year whichever comes first.
