Honda has long been using their 0w20 FS oil on their gas-fed cars and they were no issues with it. If Honda suggested such an oil for their diesel engine, I guess they know what they are doing. This small diesel engine is manufactured in India and planned for Asia/Oceania market.

Got curious with ultra low viscosity oil especially 0w16. Theyve been using it in Japan since late 90s! Theyre planning to put them into the US market this year.

But of course we all know that Japan has a very different weather and temperature compared to ours. Ganda ng weather nila talaga. Just last summer we were in the 40s and 50s in cabanatuan. Hope they did or doing extensive research for these oils in a tropical climate

Manufacturers specify thinner and thinner oils to meet stringent global fuel economy standards, not necessarily to protect the engine better. Of course we all hope that these ultra low viscosity oils gives us the best of both worlds...
