Avid DIYer din ako. Used to change the oil on my ‘ol honda city. But since we’ve moved to a condo, di na pwede mag diy change oil.
I let the casa do it and take out what i feel is unnecessary like oil flushing, oil additives, etc.
What i appreciate are the extra checks they do on major checkups like retightening of bolts sa suspension, check & adjust ng valve clearance, servicing of front & rear brakes, etc. This will be quite a task for a DIY mechanic like me without the proper tools and location. (Garage)
One thing i wonder bakit hindi included sa major checkup is the throttle body cleaning. Di nakalista sa manual.

I used to take my car to Honda Pasig. Wala naman akong complaints sa service and so far havent been ripped-off by them. Honda Marikina na ako ngayon. Less traffic, less customers (for now) kaya mabilis gawin kotse ko. For me, the SA that i deal with is the deciding factor for me. Sa una give them the benefit of doubt and after that you develop a professional relationship and start to trust them. Nagustuhan ko langang treatment sa akin kaya sa kanila na ako nagpapaservice ngayon.
They really do the things they are supposed to do on the manual. They also write it down on the invoice. And true enough, the car felt different.

February 14th, 2020 05:15 PM #67Assuming steel for bolt & nut, with copper washer in between.
Copper have slightly higher coefficient of thermal expansion, so the tendency is copper expands more, making the joint tighter, as temperature rises.
Some oil pans are aluminum but have steel at the drain plug.
Typical tightening torque for drain plug is only 18-20 ft-lbs. Compare that with wheel lug nuts torqued at 80-90 ft-lbs.

February 14th, 2020 11:01 PM #69kinyo and 12dvc,
tumawag ako sa y2k pero hindi sila familiar sa crush washer tapos kahit sabihin ko code eh wala daw sila codecode more of sample daw kailangan kung baga to see is to believe.
Meron sila washer eh stainless and galvanized.

Napilitan ako gamitin uli yung crush washer, so 2nd life na nung washer.
