aside from discouraging friends from going to rapide, i think this is one of the best way i can get even with them.

    heres the story:

i am based here in manila pero nagloko ang clutch system ko sa pampanga. so, para makauwi ako ng worry-free to manila, pinacheck ko sa rapide san fernando pampanga near SM, which i thought was a reputable shop. i thouught it was, dahil six months warranty and kahit saang branch daw pwede ipagawa. it was around 11 am. they charge me 12K plus for a clutch cover, disk, pressure plate, and refacing of flywheel, etc. plus overhaul of my two rear drum brakes.

they finished at around 8 pm, dahil nahirapan sila pagbleed for the cluthch. they suspected na primary clutch cylinder ang dahilan so they overhaul it. baklas-kabit ang ginawa nila for an hour and finally nagawa rin nila. ang reason pang crosswind lang daw pala ang kasya sa clutch cylinder (i dunno what it is called pero yung parang spring).

so tinest drive ko, with the mechanics ok naman. and it was late na kaya, i was hurrying to go home to manila na. kampante naman ako dahil with the price they charge me (i really know na malaki ang bayad ko but i want insurance) i should really be assured na ok na ok.

dumaan ako sa expressway, so i dont really need to change gear naman. nang nasa toll gate na ako ng bocaue to pay toll fee, all of a sudden di ko na mashift sa first gear. ang ginawa ko i turned off the engine, inistart ko on first gear para makausad lang. so to shift gears, nirerev ko para pumalo sa 2.8 rpm and above. so it was ok na muna.

ng papasok na sa edsa, dun nako nahirapan dahil lumubog na rin ang clutch ko(this is where i learned how valuable kung member pa rin sana ako ng AAP). traffic sobra dahil may ginagawa sa balintawak (ata). pag naka stop na and to start it pinapatay ko ang makina then start it with first gear. ng lumampas nako sa traffic di nako makarev ng husto so i was always in first gear and kung makatsamba nai-shishift ko. pero when it needed to stop i cant shift low gear so ang hirap di ko na rin magamit ang preno ng unti-unti dahil lubog ang clutch pag nagbreak ako namamatayan nako ng makina. what i did is, lets say na pamenor na ako dahil sa red light, di na ako aapak sa gas konting-konting preno lang and my gear is stuck in 3rd or 4th hahayaan ko na nun, perong parang kabayo ang takbo ko until i fully stop at mamatayan na ko ng engine. awang-awa ako sa makina ko.

nung malapit nako sa bahay naramdaman ko na ring lumambot ang brakes ko. kinabukasan pinacheck ko sa mechanic, ang culprit primary and secondary clutch ko. nakita nila yung nilagay na pangcrosswind out of alignment na and secondary clutch busted ang rubber. yung break ko, both rear ay my leak.

so another gastos and the experience is really traumatic. waht i really hate is dapat sa ganung presyo ok ang gawa nila. daig pa nila ang mga mandurugas sa tabi-tabi ng banawe. also, pumunta ako sa rapide kalayaan, i just check kung my warranty nga sila, ang sabi sa akin franchise lang sila kaya di nila pwedeng gawin ang back job. sa mga main daw ako pumunta (i dont really care naman dahil wala na akong balak pumunta sa kahit anong branch nito). anyway, lessons learned kaya sa mga balak magpagawa sa rapide, you better think twice!

and then, january last year, kumabig nalang bigla yung car ko...so i brought it to them since satisfied naman ako sa service nila...may free coffee nga pala sila, ikaw nga lang magtitimpla, i'm not sure sa ibang branches.. anyway, nagstock up daw ung brakes ko...so they suggested me to replace the repair kit for both sides na, left and right.. i'm not sure kung overpriced ulit..pero since it only cost me around 500 bucks, ok lang sa akin...

after a week, hindi pa rin nawala ung kabig..so they gave me a quote for all the underchasis work which cost around 18k...wow..so di ko muna pinagawa..i brought my car to zafra..it only cost me around 6k..kaso parang lalong nasira after ginawa nung zafra...anyway...ung mga hindi dapat palitan na papalitan ng rapide, un ang natipid ko sa zafra...

well, that's just my experience on rapide, sa antipolo branch ah...they have a good service, yun nga lang, nung underchasis na ung pinatignan ko, ayun, lumobo din yung estimate sa akin..
naku sir, parehong "bugok shop" yang napuntahan mo
have'nt you read about Zafra horror stories too.

it does not matter who owns RAPIDE, what really matter is their quality of work. in the hope of they fixing the problem, more often, they add up to the problem and have the guts to charge sky high. puro lang sila marketing strategy, wala naman service quality & reliability. no wonder yung isang branch nila dito sa may amin nagsara na with more to close.

    same goes to servitek.

It seems na matagal na ang bad reputation ng rapide. Hindi pa rin pala nagbabago. buti bukas pa ang mga shops nila.
