November 9th, 2007 10:46 AM #1Guadalupe is just a stone throw away from the MMDA HQ and yet the MMDA guys are just so helpless in doing something about the traffic chaos being caused by the buses there especially along the northbound lanes of EDSA. Traffic usually backs up to the Pasay Road area because of these buses that get in and out of the loading/unloading area with impunity and then again stop to do some more loading at the foot of guadalupe bridge. This is repeated in many other areas along EDSA and results in a tremendous waste of fuel and manhours. With the looming energy crisis and rapidly escalating fuel prices, it really makes you wonder how serious the government is in its energy conservation campaign.

Traffic kasi pababa dun. nangyayari is 2 lanes na lang matitira for those travelling in edsa, kasama na mga bus dun. bottle-neck kumbaga. minsan as early as 7 am traffic na yang part na yan.

November 13th, 2007 04:44 PM #5I could not agree more. talagang kalbaryo na natin ang byahe sa EDSA, mula Cubao hanggang Buendia.
Because of the volume of vehicles present and those in the future, the only option left is vertical development and/or mass transport systems.
MMDA is not part of the equation anymore. Traffic cops merely compound the problem by maintaining those loading zones.
But to build mass transport system, like in all modern cities of the world, we need huge funding, huge foreign funding for sure.
We should braze ourselves, dahil matagal pang panahong pagtitiis ang mararanasan natin, mga pare ko. join 'em or lick 'em.

Ganyan na talaga dyan since my childhood days pa (wag nang tanungin if what year, ok?)...madalas ma-stock ung school bus namin sa lugar na yan papuntang iskul, kaya ginagawa ni manong drayber umiikot pa sya hanggang shaw/crossing tapos pasok sa Boni, then tawid sa Makati-Manda Bridge...
Mas masahol ngayon kasi nagpi-pickup na din mga bus dun sa paanan ng Guadalupe Station, aside from the fact na medyo bottle neck yang lugar na yan.
